On our last night at home, we went to Essence, Park Plaza for dinner. The restaurant menu on Zomato looked good and had something for everyone- North Indian, Southeast Asian, continental etc.
I was looking forward to a quiet place, but the restaurant turned out to be quite noisy. We reached around 8:30 and had to wait for a bit. There was a buffet spread but all of us wanted à-la-carte, so we placed an order for honey chilli vegetables, asian spinach and corn rolls, couple of mocktails, beers and wine.
To my surprise, they only had one variety each of beer, whiskey and wine. Moreover our server kept pushing us to take the only beer available(even though we didn’t want it), since there was some offer on it!
One of the good things about not going out of Bangalore over the long weekends is you don’t get stuck in traffic. And watching the infamous silk board almost empty in the middle of the day is a rare sight indeed 🙂
So last Friday we decided to go to Cunningham road and try out Hammered. We both used to work near Cunningham road many years back and loved that area. Hammered is located at the same spot where the very hip F-bar once used to be. It’s spread across two floors amidst beautiful greens and has plenty of seating.
There are times when quaint cafes and rustic microbreweries just don’t cut it. This was one such weekend when I was yearning for some booming music & dim lights, and moreover it had been a while since we visited a pub.
So this Saturday we decided to go to Tilt. It’s a gastropub located in Koramangala 5th Block with excellent F&B choices and great service.
I made a reservation through Zomato and we reached there just a little after eight. The place has two different sections of seating. Outer one is more like a casual lounge with not so loud music. The inner section has a small dance floor and is split into different seating areas. It has just the perfect kind of dim lighting.
Looking for super-boozy drinks with some seriously good food? Head to Harry’s Bar & cafe in Koramangala. I had been to their Whitefield outlet before and loved that too, but now I think I’m slightly biased towards this one.
We usually stay in on Friday nights, thanks to the mad traffic outside. But this Friday, after a restaurant goofed up our home delivery order, we headed out for dinner. And as luck would have it, we didn’t get any table in Fenny’s and Social.
I had Harry’s also on my mind, so we finally went there and bingo! Got a table immediately. The place had booming music and was almost packed. Well, almost 🙂
