Last friday we paid a visit to Gilly’s Restobar for dinner. Having never been to Koramalagala Gilly’s, I was looking forward to this one near my house.
We had made a reservation, which seemed unnecessary later on since the place had plenty of vacant tables. There was a minimal cover charge, which made me wonder why it was there at all 🙂
We recently moved to Electronic City and as much as I love the comparatively quieter streets here, I miss the ample food delivery options and eateries in HSR Layout and Koramangala 🙂 I have, however, made a list of places to check out in E-city and the first one was Fire Station.
This place is spread across two floors, one of them being open air with a pretty chilled out vibe. The color red can be seen in abundance, probably to be in line with the fire station theme. You will also get to see tiny fire extinguisher buckets used for chutneys etc.
Hangover is the latest addition to HSR’s swiftly increasing number of watering holes. It’s sort of hard to imagine such a swanky place in HSR, and for the lack of a better term to describe the ambience, I’ll just say the whole place looks quite interesting.
The place is pretty big and has three levels of seating. Drinks menu has a decent variety of spirits to choose from, but the food menu is disheartening. It hardly has any vegetarian options and you have to play a guessing game to see what a dish might contain.
Over the last weekend, the usually jam-packed city roads were quite peaceful. So we decided to brave the distance and go to this place called “Churchill’s“ in JP Nagar for dinner. The photos looked gorgeous on Zomato and it was also listed among “Best bars & pubs”.
The pub is spread across the second floor of a building. Interiors here have that typical dim lighting, nice wood furniture and the place offers loads of F&B choices. Both of us were famished and quickly asked for a portion of butter garlic mushrooms, crispy corn, a Manhattan and Churchill’s Long John. Read on for how I liked the food and drinks.
The Whitefield Arms is a colonial style pub located in The Waverly Hotel and is attached to VR Bengaluru mall. I was always intrigued by the name of this pub and it seems to have an interesting history indeed(read about it here).
The pub looks striking with dark wood furniture and a beautiful bar counter, black & white being the dominant colours everywhere. We were blown away by the beautiful patio seating and got seated outside to enjoy the lovely evening breeze.
“The Colony Gastropub” is the newest watering hole in HSR and is a beautiful place to dine at. I took an immediate liking to this place which is spread across two floors and has terrace seating too. But we had to get a table on the lower floor since it was drizzling.
This floor looked like just the prefect place to unwind. I think not many people are aware of this lounge yet, so it was sparsely populated on a Saturday evening. We got a comfy couch by the window and started skimming through their menus.
There was a lot of hype about this new lounge called 612 East in Indiranagar, even before it started functioning. I had added it to my list and a couple of days back while crossing Indiranagar, we decided to drop by and check it out.
The lounge is spread across three floors and we straightaway went to the terrace. It was a beautiful area with comfortable couches and looked like the perfect place to unwind. But it was just around three in the afternoon and hot outside, so we descended to one of the lower floors and took a table inside.
