Hangover is the latest addition to HSR’s swiftly increasing number of watering holes. It’s sort of hard to imagine such a swanky place in HSR, and for the lack of a better term to describe the ambience, I’ll just say the whole place looks quite interesting.
The place is pretty big and has three levels of seating. Drinks menu has a decent variety of spirits to choose from, but the food menu is disheartening. It hardly has any vegetarian options and you have to play a guessing game to see what a dish might contain.
Over the last weekend, the usually jam-packed city roads were quite peaceful. So we decided to brave the distance and go to this place called “Churchill’s“ in JP Nagar for dinner. The photos looked gorgeous on Zomato and it was also listed among “Best bars & pubs”.
The pub is spread across the second floor of a building. Interiors here have that typical dim lighting, nice wood furniture and the place offers loads of F&B choices. Both of us were famished and quickly asked for a portion of butter garlic mushrooms, crispy corn, a Manhattan and Churchill’s Long John. Read on for how I liked the food and drinks.
The Whitefield Arms is a colonial style pub located in The Waverly Hotel and is attached to VR Bengaluru mall. I was always intrigued by the name of this pub and it seems to have an interesting history indeed(read about it here).
The pub looks striking with dark wood furniture and a beautiful bar counter, black & white being the dominant colours everywhere. We were blown away by the beautiful patio seating and got seated outside to enjoy the lovely evening breeze.
“The Colony Gastropub” is the newest watering hole in HSR and is a beautiful place to dine at. I took an immediate liking to this place which is spread across two floors and has terrace seating too. But we had to get a table on the lower floor since it was drizzling.
This floor looked like just the prefect place to unwind. I think not many people are aware of this lounge yet, so it was sparsely populated on a Saturday evening. We got a comfy couch by the window and started skimming through their menus.
There was a lot of hype about this new lounge called 612 East in Indiranagar, even before it started functioning. I had added it to my list and a couple of days back while crossing Indiranagar, we decided to drop by and check it out.
The lounge is spread across three floors and we straightaway went to the terrace. It was a beautiful area with comfortable couches and looked like the perfect place to unwind. But it was just around three in the afternoon and hot outside, so we descended to one of the lower floors and took a table inside.
Lots of new eateries have come up in Zirakpur since our last visit here. And the other day I found just the perfect place for a family dinner.
Dak Bungalow is a huge bungalow converted to a restaurant. In British India, dak bungalows were houses providing free accommodation to govt officials. They were also famous for their excellent food.
We reached the place at night, so not much of the garden area was visible. But from what I could see, the place looked beautiful. Interiors had a certain old world charm with ornate solid wood furniture and comfortable couches. Tables were spaced away from one another which was a good thing.
There are times when quaint cafes and rustic microbreweries just don’t cut it. This was one such weekend when I was yearning for some booming music & dim lights, and moreover it had been a while since we visited a pub.
So this Saturday we decided to go to Tilt. It’s a gastropub located in Koramangala 5th Block with excellent F&B choices and great service.
I made a reservation through Zomato and we reached there just a little after eight. The place has two different sections of seating. Outer one is more like a casual lounge with not so loud music. The inner section has a small dance floor and is split into different seating areas. It has just the perfect kind of dim lighting.
