1 MG Mall has some excellent dining options, Cafe Felix being a recent addition. The word “Felix” roughly translates to happy or lucky according to google and the cafe does look like its name, happy and bright.
I had added this cafe to my to-visit list after reading some great reviews in Bangalore Times. I went here this Saturday and was instantly charmed by the bright interiors and glass walls. The place looked perfect for a lazy lunch with its comfortable seating and rain pattering against glass walls.
The menu is not very big, but filled with delicious dishes. I ordered for a portion of fish & chips and asked my server if they had any cold coffees (there were none on the menu). He graciously agreed to get an iced caffe latte for me according to my specifications.
The recent alcohol ban seems to be really hard on some lounges, but Koramangala Social seems to be completely oblivious to it. I went to this outlet of Social on Saturday afternoon with a friend, and was quite surprised to see the place completely packed.
I was amazed at how beautiful and green the place looked. While Whitefield Social has more of a garage decor, this one kind of resembles a large greenhouse. There are beautiful plants all around and a big bar counter(now a mocktail/smoothie counter) in the middle.
Looking for super-boozy drinks with some seriously good food? Head to Harry’s Bar & cafe in Koramangala. I had been to their Whitefield outlet before and loved that too, but now I think I’m slightly biased towards this one.
We usually stay in on Friday nights, thanks to the mad traffic outside. But this Friday, after a restaurant goofed up our home delivery order, we headed out for dinner. And as luck would have it, we didn’t get any table in Fenny’s and Social.
I had Harry’s also on my mind, so we finally went there and bingo! Got a table immediately. The place had booming music and was almost packed. Well, almost 🙂
Interesting day today. We spent somewhere close to 2 hours roaming around in Koramangala, discussing where to eat!
We finally landed in Cafe 132. Every time I used to cross this place, something about it brought back memories of Goa :), maybe because I had been to a similar looking bistro in Goa (though I won’t compare its excellent food and service with this one).
Spent most of this Saturday shopping, and after finishing in Koramangala, decided to visit VR Bengaluru. After getting disheartened to see an almost deserted Whitefield Arms and yet-to-open Irish House (which looked very good and is opening on 12th), we thought of going to Harry’s in Phoenix Market City.
I absolutely love fish & chips, and this is probably the only place near my house which delivers them. As the name suggests, its menu consists of different preparations of fish amongst other things. I chose to order herb crusted fish & fries using zomato.
And so, I started picturing beautiful batter fried fish and yummy tartar sauce.
This is definitely one of the most beautiful eateries in the city. The moment we entered, I was blown away by the charming ambience. Everything looked simply perfect in white and a touch of black.
