The Marina, Shimla

Why go to a resort when you have a view like this from your house!


It’s been almost two years since I visited Shimla. Weather was lovely and not very cold, though it remained cloudy most of the time.

It was hubby’s birthday too, and we all decided to go to the very beautiful Hotel Marina for dinner. It’s a lovely boutique hotel near Mall road. The restaurant looked neat with comfortable seating and well spaced tables.

Musoorie tales-Part II

After our excellent coffees at “Cafe By The Way“, we decided to explore the Mall road some more. Checked out a couple of shops, bought a few goodies and then it was dinner time. We had a few recommendations, but all of them were to close by 11:00 pm. We finally found a place called The Imperial Square, right next to Library Chowk. It looked good and the best part was that it’s closing time was midnight.

Beautiful evening at Jamta (Nahan)

The drive from Zirakpur to Nahan is not particularly pleasant, but as you enter Nahan, you’d be transported to a different world. Narrow lanes covered with small shops, no pollution and the city seems to be caught in a time warp. It’s very peaceful and no one seems to be in a hurry to go anywhere.

There are a couple of resorts near Nahan, and one of them is this beautiful Grand View Resort in Jamta. Good food, beautiful weather and having your family around, what more do you want 🙂
