The recent alcohol ban seems to be really hard on some lounges, but Koramangala Social seems to be completely oblivious to it. I went to this outlet of Social on Saturday afternoon with a friend, and was quite surprised to see the place completely packed.
I was amazed at how beautiful and green the place looked. While Whitefield Social has more of a garage decor, this one kind of resembles a large greenhouse. There are beautiful plants all around and a big bar counter(now a mocktail/smoothie counter) in the middle.
Ever heard of BDS? No, I’m not talking about Bachelor of Dental Surgery. This is a new term coined by Mr. H and stands for Biryani Deficiency Syndrome, and apparently I suffer from it time to time 😀
So yesterday after being diagnosed with BDS, I decided to order some medication and was very happy to discover that Nandhana Palace had started delivering to our place. No one else was in a mood for outside food, so I ordered just one Hyderabadi chicken biryani.
Baithak translates to “living room” or “lounge”(in a more formal sense) in Hindi, and is indeed built like that. I noticed this place last week when I went to Tea Trails, which is located right opposite to it.
The place looks quite beautiful with some gazebos for group seating, and lots of smaller sized tables. Special note to ladies, don’t go to this place wearing your pretty heels, all the floors(outside and inside) are covered with sand and you’ll have a difficult time walking around 🙂
Went to this laid-back little cafe in Koramangala for a late lunch over the weekend, and had some finger-licking good food with delicious beverages.
Their downstairs area doesn’t have much of a seating, so after braving narrow spiraling stairs which can easily give you vertigo, we went to the terrace and got seated. Our server got us a huge menu card, and we placed an order for veg penne pasta in pesto sauce, chicken au gratin, ginger tea and iced black coffee.
This is probably one of the legendary places in Bangalore, but somehow we never got around to visiting it. Last time we came here, there was no parking available on the street, and we had to go somewhere else.
Today, however, was our lucky day! We reached around 2:30, found parking and a table too 🙂
