Wok Paper Scissors, Koramangala 5th Block

“Wok Paper Scissors” probably gets its name from the very popular hand game “Rock Paper Scissors”. I haven’t visited the restaurant, but sampled some of its food over this weekend.

Here is what I ordered:

Churchill’s, JP Nagar

Over the last weekend, the usually jam-packed city roads were quite peaceful. So we decided to brave the distance and go to this place called Churchill’s in JP Nagar for dinner. The photos looked gorgeous on Zomato and it was also listed among “Best bars & pubs”.

The pub is spread across the second floor of a building. Interiors here have that typical dim lighting, nice wood furniture and the place offers loads of F&B choices. Both of us were famished and quickly asked for a portion of butter garlic mushrooms, crispy corn, a Manhattan and Churchill’s Long John. Read on for how I liked the food and drinks.

Rural Blues, Sarjapur Road

“Rural Blues” was on my list since it opened, and last weekend Mr.H graciously agreed to go there for lunch(finally!) 😀 The place has a beautiful entrance which looks more like someone’s residence than a restaurant. They have some beautiful outdoor and rooftop seating, but both of them were booked for a private parties that day.

Interiors are very simple and neat, and I liked the fact that they hadn’t crammed in too many tables. There’s a bar counter on one end and an open kitchen on the other.

Their food menu is vast and they have dishes from many cuisines, Indian, Thai, Italian to name a few. Bar menu has decent choices for cocktails and liquors, though I wish they had more choices for beers. We started off with our usual bira along with veg nachos and magic mushrooms.

Uptown Sliders & Shakes, HSR Layout

Fantastic find for those slider cravings!

A couple of days back we had ordered burgers from a certain very popular place in Koramangala, which turned out to be disappointing. So we thought of trying out this new place hoping to find a nice burger place and I’m glad we did!

We placed an order for a portion of flake fried veg slider and an American chicken slider.

Hungry Lee, BTM

A couple of days back while looking for place to order dinner from, we came across this place called ‘Hungry Lee‘ on Swiggy. The name was amusing and their menu had many tempting dishes, so both of us decided to try it out.

They have something called “Create your hungry bowl”, wherein you can choose noodles/rice, a protein and a sauce. We chose to get a portion of spicy creamy tofu dimsums, tofu hungry bowl in black bean sauce with stir fried noodles and Burmese khow suey.

Smise, Koramangala 4th Block

“Smise” is a beautiful cafe located on 80 ft. road in Koramangala. It is spread across the fourth floor of a building and has some lovely terrace seating too. The whole terrace area is surrounded with innumerable pots and the breeze is wonderful.

Their menu has plenty of things to choose from – salads, sandwiches, pizzas, sizzlers, shakes and much more. They also have loads of board-games too if you get bored 🙂

The Whitefield Arms, Whitefield

The Whitefield Arms is a colonial style pub located in The Waverly Hotel and is attached to VR Bengaluru mall. I was always intrigued by the name of this pub and it seems to have an interesting history indeed(read about it here).

The pub looks striking with dark wood furniture and a beautiful bar counter, black & white being the dominant colours everywhere. We were blown away by the beautiful patio seating and got seated outside to enjoy the lovely evening breeze.
