Smally’s is a chain of hole-in-the-wall kind of places that churn out delicious comfort food every single time you visit. I have tried their Church Street outlet and had some lip-smacking food there. This weekend we went to the Koramanagala outlet for some takeaway and got a hamster sandwich, magic mushroom burger, chicken stroganoff and red velvet cupcake.
Though the place was not packed my order took a really long time, but their food kind of made up for it.
The place has very simple decor. Furniture consists of basic wooden tables and low stools. You will also notice some odd objects hanging from the ceiling like aluminium tea kettle.
Here’s how I found the food:
Magic mushroom burger: Nothing spoils your burger more than stale buns, but these ones were fresh and soft. The burger had loads of mushroom inside and tasted great.
Hamster sandwich : Simplicity at its best. This was delicious, after all no one can go wrong with salami and cheese 🙂
Chicken stroganoff: I love stroganoff and keep looking for good ones. Though I found this one a wee bit milkier than what I had at the Church Street outlet, I’d still recommend it.
Red velvet cupcake: Though I don’t care much for cupcakes, I couldn’t resist picking up one of these beauties. The cupcake was fresh and with a delicious frosting. Must try for cupcake lovers.
Do try out this place for your comfort food fix. Service can be quite slow, but the food totally makes up for it.
