We moved to South Goa on the last day of our trip. We had booked a house in Benaulim using Airbnb, and it took us around 1.5 hours from Calangute to reach there.
As you move South in Goa, you’ll notice a steady decline in the number of eateries, pubs, shops etc. And at times, you might end up with no mobile network as well 🙂
Our house in Benaulim was a big four bedroom property with a lovely terrace. Thanks to the wonderful caretaker Ms. Faria who showed us in and around the house and helped with whatever we needed. The house was well maintained with antique furniture. The only issue was that we (rather, the husbands) had to lug all the suitcases to third floor 🙂
It was noon by the time we got settled, and though it was way too hot outside, we went straight to the beach.
Beaches in South Goa are much more quiet, clean and have less shacks. We had some excellent food at a shack called Roger’s. I loved my tuna sandwich and chicken sandwich and Mummy loved her aloo chaat. Indian and chinese fares were good too. My mojito was quite refreshing and their service was amazing. Will definitely recommend this place for its impressive service and good food.
For dinner we went towards Colva and found a place called Viva Goa. It had live music and karaoke too, brother even sang ‘nothing else matters’! Must say he sings quite well!
I loved my chicken steak, it had a delectable creamy mushroom sauce and perfectly cooked tender chicken steak. Mr. H had order a veg sizzler, which didn’t turn out as expected. It had no patty, and instead had only some grilled veggies.
North Indian fares were done quite well and fish curry was tasty too. Do visit for this place for karaoke and delicious food.
Afterwards, we hurried back home to finish the fantastic wines brother had got 😛
I wish we could spend some more days, I’m already missing Goa 🙂
