We rarely visit Garuda Mall these days, partly because it’s far and there are not many eateries in the mall 😀 Moreover, yesterday I discovered that the Mango store which used to be a fav, had closed 😦
After some frantic last minute shopping for our upcoming vacation, we decided to dine at Pind Balluchi which is located on the 3rd floor.
We were a group of eight, but easily got tables at the almost empty restaurant. It was getting a little late, so we decided to skip appetizers and order main course straightaway. I placed an order for 2 portions of dal baluchi, paneer butter masala, mixed veg, breads and some chaach(buttermilk),lassi and jaljeera. Call me weird, but I think paneer makhni sounds more authentic and more Punjabi that paneer butter masala 😀
Their decor reminds of a highway dhaba, with dim lighting. They were playing Punjabi music.
Our drinks arrived soon, and everyone unanimously voted for chaach. It tasted quite nice with a lovely blend of spices.
Food took quite some time, and everyone was starving by now. Paneer butter masala tasted average(and I blamed the name 🙂 ). Paneer was soft, but tasted a bit off and the gravy lacked richness.
Mixed veg was good, and was mildly spiced. All the veggies were cooked well and tasted nice.
Dal makhni was quite delicious, not overly creamy. It was cooked perfectly and was best among all the dishes we had ordered.
Breads were good and not rubbery, the way it turns out to be at some places. Special mention for the nan, which was quite was soft and had a delicious crunch outside.
An average meal, but prices were on the lower side, so I won’t complain much 🙂
