Sangam sweets, HSR

New restaurant alert!

This city never disappoints when it comes to good food and new places. This place has recently opened in HSR, and is located on the same lane as that of Dunkin Donuts. We noticed it a couple of days back and instantly decided to pay a visit soon 🙂

The restaurant is spacious and brightly lit. It’s like a mini heaven with loads of sweets and savouries on display. They have some baked goods too, and a jalebi stall outside. I was amazed at the variety of samosas they had and decided to try out some.

We got a paneer samosa, dahi papdi chat, dhokla and a kachori. So much for keeping a check on calories! The place was packed and looked a little chaotic. Their staff seemed a little flustered catering to so many customers at once. They need to work on their ventilation too, the place got smoky when they started making samosas.

Their paneer samosa was average (guess I should have taken the regular one), it could have been encased in a slightly thinner shell and fried a little more. Dhokla was very soft, but somewhat bland.

Kachori was quite nice and generously stuffed, it was fried well and tasted fresh. Papdi chat was good too, it was loaded with curd and not very spicy.

Obviously, this place has some teething issues, but it has definitely got potential.  I’ll surely go back for some of their tempting snacks.

Ambiance: 3.5/5

Food: 3/5

Service: 3/5
