My usual thoughts on a Monday 🙂
So, to beat Monday blues, we ordered in some Chinese. Mr. H had noticed a new place showing up on zomato ordering app called “Shanghai Court” and wanted to try it out.
This place has a long list of soups, so I ordered two of them – manchow and hunan wonton soup. We also ordered for steamed momos, kung pao tofu and hakka noodles.
Order arrived on time, and despite their careful packaging, some of wonton soup had leaked. Manchow soup tasted nice, with lots of veggies and tofu, and wasn’t hot. There were no crispy noodles to go with it though 😦 Steamed momos were delicate and tasted good, with the regular shredded cabbage and carrot stuffing.
Wonton soup looked like a tub of oil, and I am not exaggerating! I tried to remove some oil from top, but finally gave up and mixed it in 😛 The taste however, was not too bad. It was watery and tasted a little different (in a nice way though). Fried wontons that came along with it were just alright, they had negligible stuffing.
Hakka noodles tossed with veggies, were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and delicately flavoured. Kung pao tofu was excellent too, big chunks of fried tofu dunked in a delectable gravy. Gravy was rich and had a tinge of sweetness, and not at all spicy.
Easy on the pocket, this is a nice place for your desi-style-chinese fix. I am definitely going to order again.
