Cafe 132, Koramangala

Interesting day today. We spent somewhere close to 2 hours roaming around in Koramangala, discussing where to eat!

We finally landed in Cafe 132. Every time I used to cross this place, something about it brought back memories of Goa :), maybe because I had been to a similar looking bistro in Goa (though I won’t compare its excellent food and service with this one).

It was warm outside, so we chose to sit inside, only to discover that it was even warmer inside! So we moved back to a table outside.

After we got seated, I started noticing things around. The place seemed neglected with dirty floors and dried potted plants. Five minutes after we got seated, their staff came to clean our table. Made me wonder why they had left it dirty after the previous occupants left!

Anyway, we got the menus and started deciding our orders. Hubby has suddenly developed an inclination towards soups and salads (trying to eat healthy Mr. H?). So we ordered for a minestrone soup, greek salad and fish & chips for me(no healthy food for me when I’m eating out :D).

Our server got us glasses of water, and the glasses turned out to be extremely smelly. We informed our server, but he didn’t really seemed to understand. The second pair of glasses he got, were also a little smelly.

Our food took a while to arrive. Soup looked good and was served with garlic bread. It had a decent amount of chopped veggies, traces of pasta, was seasoned well and tasted great. Garlic bread was just plain bread with some butter on it.

Salad was mediocre. The portion was decent and dressing was alright, nothing to write home about.

Batter fried fish looked good, but I can’t say the same about its taste. It was in desperate need of seasoning and had no flavour at all. Wonder why it’s so difficult to get such a simple dish right! I would have loved to see chunkier fries(I know I’m so hard to please!), the ones that were served looked malnourished 😀 Tartar sauce was the only thing on that plate which tasted good.

Disappointing meal, and we had been thinking of coming here for so long! 😦 It’s a charming place on the ever crowded food street, all they have to do is pay just a little more attention to decor and food.
