Spotted this tiny patisserie while getting out of What’s in the name cafe. All the desserts on display looked divine, so I decided to try out something.
Boulangerie (pronounced as boo-lanzhuh–ree) is a bakery that specializes/focuses mainly on baking breads and a patisserie is a bakery specializing in pastries, headed by a pastry chef.
If you think the name’s fancy, you should check out their menu. All the items have quirky names and are taken from Harry Potter series like Hagrid’s mead, Dumbledore’s dunker etc 🙂
I got an eclair(forgot its name) and a “Craggy exterior, decadent interior”. This was supposedly a lava cake, but turned to be frozen and hard. The ganache inside was frozen too and I didn’t like it much.
Eclair had a filling of chocolate cream, but it wasn’t fresh and lacked any flavour.
Wouldn’t really go back for desserts. But they serve coffees, sandwiches, quiches, croissants etc too. Will try them out next time probably.
