Coming to Chandigarh and not checking out the nightlife! Not done 🙂
And when in Punjab, do as the Punjabis do 🙂 So Friday night we headed to a place called Peddlers, which had decent number of good Zomato reviews and was located in the very famous Elante Mall. I made a booking and reached around 9:30.
The place was sort of empty, but the music was nice and not too loud. It’s not a very big place, but has a lovely rustic ambiance.
Our server initially got very confused with our order of mojito, LIT and nachos, but thankfully we received everything alright. We were planning to do some pub hopping, but after the crowd started pouring in after 10, we decided against it.
Long island was truly Patiala style 😀 One drink, and you’d be buzzed. I loved the mojito too, the mint flavour was excellent.
Nachos were out-of-the-packet kind, and became soggy quickly. There was not enough cheese and bean topping was average.
They had happy hours throughout (high prices justified!). We also ordered for some sort of hung curd tikkis, which tasted average.
There was a band present for fusion nights. Coming from Bangalore, the music and crowd was a total surprise for me. Crowd back there is quite restrained and music is almost always English. I was hoping for the likes of Phil Collins, but I must say listening to Punjabi and Sufi songs throughout the evening was quite different and refreshing.
The crowd went absolutely bonkers after a while and the absence of a dance floor didn’t seem to make much of a difference 🙂
This place is a must visit in Chandigarh, the drinks are a steal at those prices and the music is lively. Do try to make in on a Friday, if you want to catch up on their fusion nights.
