Delicious pub grub @Harry’s, Phoenix Market City

Spent most of this Saturday shopping, and after finishing in Koramangala, decided to visit VR Bengaluru. After getting disheartened to see an almost deserted Whitefield Arms and yet-to-open Irish House (which looked very good and is opening on 12th), we thought of going to Harry’s in Phoenix Market City.

I had heard good reviews of its pub grub and burgers. Their decor is simple and they have outside seating as well.
They have just 2-3 servers, so the service was slow and it was difficult to get their attention.

Their drinks menu had the usual stuff. I had more shopping to do and wasn’t planning on getting buzzed, but wanted to try out their drinks too. Dilemmas of life you see! We ordered beer and screwdriver mango driver along with a small portion of veggie nachos. And then the server said I’ll get another free drink..damn happy hours! 😀

Nachos looked very nice but I can’t say the same about their taste. Toppings were meagre. Bean topping was too chunky and didn’t really go well with the nachos.

Beer was good, and screwdriver was also fine, except for the fact that I’m not quite fond of Tropicana mango and that’s what they had used.

We decided to order some more food, and asked for fish & chips and a spicy bean patty glider (this was the only veg option in sliders!). Both of these took a while to arrive, but they looked good! We were starving and started gorging on all the delicious food.

Fish & chips was a clear winner for me. It had big chunks of fish lightly coated with batter, that had exquisite desi flavours. The batter was very light and crunchy, though not artery-clogging-oily. Fries were perfectly done, not those skinny looking fries you usually see at other places, but chunky and crisp. They were covered with some magical tasting herbs and spices. Tartar sauce was lovely and complimented the fried fish wonderfully.

Bean patty glider was equally good. Decent in size, the patty was truly desi style and cooked to perfection, and the dip which accompanied the burger was also mouthwatering.

Music picked up a little after 6’o clock, but in a few minutes became so loud that it was sort of difficult to have a conversation.

I made a mistake of using that loo which was stinking badly. I really wish they do something about it.

Billing also took a while, since their few servers were not able to cater to the increasing crowd. Hope they would do something about their service.

Do give this place a try if you are in the neighborhood and hungry 🙂
