At my home, deciding restaurants is always a challenging task 😀 A couple of days back, for lunch we settled on south-east asian and after being unable to find a place in HSR, we ventured to Republic of Noodles in Electronics City.
I had read nice reviews of this place and was looking forward to a good meal. We reached around 1:30 and I was glad to find some empty tables. There are couple of more eateries in the same hotel, which I plan to try soon 🙂
The restaurant had minimal decor, and looked neat and spacious.
The place had some very obvious issues, like there were just 2 servers for the entire restaurant, so it took a while to get a menu and then place an order.
Their menu looked nice with some fun facts on every page. We ordered for a Vietnamese corn and asparagus soup. I was kind of disappointed to see no momos on their menu. Also, they didn’t serve any accompaniments, e.g. sauces, kimchi etc.
Soup arrived in cute looking covered bowls, and was absolutely delicious, even though I couldn’t trace any garlic oil in it. There were lots of veggies in the soup, all of which tasted quite nice.
Noodles were very good, loved the not-so-overpowering hot and sweet flavours. They did a goof up with massaman curry though. I had ordered chicken and what arrived was veg.
They replaced it, but the replacement took a while. The curry however, was totally worth waiting for 🙂 Gravy was creamy and had lovely thai flavours, shredded chicken was soft and potato cubes were perfectly done. It was actually so delicious, that I forgot to click any pictures 😛 They even customized the gravy with lesser amount of nuts as I had asked for.
The quantity was more than our tummies could accommodate, so we got rest of the food packed.
This place is definitely worth a visit. Prices are not so high and food absolutely smashing.
